To carry out the assay with a Vaginal PH Measuring Applicator, Vaginal fluid should be collected according to the instructions given in the Instruction For Use included in the test kit. After collecting, it is preferable to perform the testing as early as possible; if not viable, the specimen should be stored properly. A general introduction about the collection, and storage of the specimens is given below.

Vaginal Fluid Collection

Don't measure within 12 hours after sexual activity;

Don't measure within 12 hours after the use of vaginal medical products (vaginalsuppositories, creams, gels, etc.);

Measure only 3-4 days after the end of a period if you are using the test when not pregnant;

Measure at least 15 minutes after urination because remaining urine can lead to false test results;

Do not wash or shower the area immediately before taking the measurement.

Vaginal Fluid Storage Condition

Vaginal fluid is applied directly; no need to collect or treat the specimen.

Color Changes under Enzyme Reaction

The pad employs a solid-phase chemistry which uses a highly specific enzyme reaction. The One Step Breast Milk Alcohol Test consists of a plastic strip with a reaction pad attached at the tip. On contact with solutions of alcohol, the reaction pad will rapidly turn colors depending on the concentration of alcohol present.
