Alcohol Test Strips
Atlas Link Technology Co., Ltd supplies three kinds of alcohol test strips, which are used to measure the alcohol concentration in saliva, breast milk and urine specimens respectively.
Intended Use
Alcohol Rapid Screening Test Strips are intended to be used as a rapid method to detect the presence of alcohol in saliva, urine and human milk at a cut-off concentration of 0.02%.
Medical study proves that the concentration of alcohol in human saliva is almost equal to that in blood, and Saliva Alcohol test strips and urine alcohol test strip can be used as a rapid semi-quantitative screening method for the preliminary determination of blood alcohol concentration (BAC).
Milk alcohol test strips are intended to detect alcohol in breast milk, for the protection of the babies feeding on breast milk.
Testing Principle
All the alcohol strips employ a solid-phase chemistry system which uses a highly specific enzyme reaction. On contact with specimens of alcohol, the reaction pad will rapidly change colors depending on the concentration of alcohol present. This color change is proportional to the concentration of alcohol in the specimen.
Alcohol Can Be Bad
Alcohol intoxication can lead to loss of alertness, coma, death and as well as birth defects. Inappropriate consumption of alcohol can be a contributing factor to many accidents, injuries, and medical conditions.
The blood alcohol concentration at which a person becomes impaired is variably dependent upon the individual's specific parameters that affect the level of impairment such as size, weight, eating habits and alcohol tolerance. The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) has established a BAC of 0.02% (0.02g/dL) as the cut-off level at which an individual is considered positive for the presence of alcohol.
