Principle of TCA Rapid Test

One-step Phencyclidine rapid test is an immunoassay based on the principle of competitive binding. With PCP urine Test kit, a Phencyclidine positive urine specimen (PCP concentration >25 ng/mL) will not incur a colored line in the test line region on the membrane of the testing strip because of binding site competition effect between the PCP and the colloidal gold particles. While a PCP negative urine specimen or a sample containing a phencyclidine drug concentration less than the cut-off value will incur a line in the test line region, because the binding sites on the testing line region captures enough colloidal gold particles, accumulation of which make the color appear.
