SARS-CoV-2 Saliva Test Kits
FASPIT ™ SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Saliva Test Kits are immunochromatographic membrane assay devices, which use the double-antibody sandwich method to detect the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein from human saliva specimen, and is intended to be used as an aid in the rapid diagnosis of the novel coronavirus pneumonia COVID-19.
SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Saliva Cassette
Atlas Link Technology Co., Ltd is one of the earlier manufacturers of COVID-19 lateral flow rapid test kits. With the SARS-COV-2 saliva test cassette, which is main targeted the professional market, such as hospital laboratories and clinical labs, we collect 1ml of saliva specimen with special saliva collector; and mix the saliva with extraction solution, and let them react for at least one minute; then add the mixed specimen into the sample well.
The Sars-Cov-2 Antigen Saliva test is well received in the professional market, because it is convenient to perform, easy to collect specimen, no need for other reagents, and takes about 15 minutes to get the testing result. But for the self-testing market, manufacturers of IVD test kits have been trying to design more convenient saliva test kits.
SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Saliva Stick
The SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Saliva Stick, also referred to as COVID-19 lollipop test kit, is one of this kind of newly developed rapid test kit for self-testing.
With this newly designed SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Saliva Test Stick, what the testee has to do is putting the pad end of the SARS-CoV-2 test stick under his/her tongue, and let the saliva be soaked into the absorbent pad of the stick until burgundy color appear in the result window. Withdraw the stick and put it on a flat surface.
After that, all she/he has to do is waiting and observe whether one line appears or two lines appear in the result window. This new feature greatly facilitated the testing procedures, and make this SARS-CoV-2 antigen stick a better choice for self-testing.
Can Mutant Virus Detected?
Until now, our SARS-COV-2 Antigen test kit can effectively detect the main variants of the virus.
SARS-CoV-2 Virus is a positive single-strand RNA virus, which could mutate rapidly, there have been a large number of gene sequencing reports on mutant viruses. Using Spike protein for detection has potential risk to be unable to identify mutant viruses. Atlas Link Technology Co., Ltd takes the nucleocapsid protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus as the antigen marker in our SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Saliva Test Kit, which will technically guarantee its specificity and avoid the influence of the virus mutation to the effectiveness of the SARS-COV-2 antigen test.
FASPIT™ SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Saliva Test
For this newly developed COVID-19 antigen test kit, Atlas Link adopted a new trade name FASPIT™, which embodies the collection method of the saliva specimen; it is also a natural extension of our brand scope with the increase of our test kit series.
Why Use Saliva Test
Since the pandemic of SARS-COV-2, the antigen testing for large-scale screening has been urgently needed. Currently, the most commonly used method is to use Nasopharyngeal Swab (NPS) and Oropharyngeal Swab (OPS) for nucleic acid detection. But there are many reports that use of saliva samples for detection has the same level of detection as NPS.
Furthermore, collecting saliva samples can effectively reduce risk of virus transmission to healthcare provider and causes less individuals discomfort compared with NPS/OPS specimens.
The easiness of sample collection make it more convenient to perform the antigen detection test.
