Monkeypox Rapid Test Kits

Monkeypox Test Series

There are currently three detection methods for monkeypox infection: polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, Antigen-based and serological test kits. Atlas Link Technology Co., Ltd supplies various rapid test kits under "NOVA Test ®" brand name, which can give testing results in 15 minutes without need of any other instrument or reagent, and are all intended to be used as an aid in the diagnosis and treatment of monkeypox infections.

1. NOVA Test® Monkeypox Virus Antigen Test Kit is an immunochromatographic assay that use double-antibody sandwich method for qualitative detection of monkeypox virus antigens in human serum, plasma, whole blood, nasopharyngeal swab, lesion exudate and saliva specimens.

2. Monkeypox Virus Total Antibody Test is an immunoassay that uses the double sandwich method for qualitative detection of anti-monkeypox virus total antibodies from human whole blood, serum and plasma specimens. Total antibodies to monkeypox virus can be detected within 1-2 weeks after infection.

3. Monkeypox Virus IgG/IgM Joint Test is an immunochromatographic assay that use immuno-capture method for qualitative detection of human monkeypox virus IgG and IgM antibodies in human serum, plasma and whole blood specimens.

For professional use

All these monkeypox rapid test kits are recommended to be used by professionals, so they are especially suitable to be used in the near-patient or point-of-care settings by trained staff working in certified laboratories or clinics. Especially, the testing results should not be used as the sole basis for monkeypox treatment, instead any diagnosis conclusion should be interpreted by the physician along
with other clinical findings, including other laboratory test results, physical examinations.

Monkeypox Disease

Human monkeypox used to be primarily endemic in the tropical rain forests of central and western Africa, but some cases have lately been reported in the United States and other countries. Early symptoms of monkeypox virus infection include fever, headache, muscle pains, fatigue, and swollen glands. After a few days of early symptoms, patients may develop a few to thousands of characteristic lesions on the face, hands, and feet. The main route of transmission is animal-to-human transmission. People can be infected with monkeypox disease by being bitten by infected animals. Monkeypox virus (MPV) transmission may also occur when exposed to patients’ saliva, respiratory excretion, lesion exudate or crusting material.

During and after the testing with any of these Monkeypox rapid test kits, handle all specimens as if they contain infectious agents. Dispose of device and items in contact with samples as medical waste after use.
